Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Applications Support Engineer to join our team of qualified, and diverse individuals.
Must be Local to County of San Diego (CoSD)
This position is responsible for support of non-ERP applications in the Health and Human Services Agency portfolio for the County of San Diego (CoSD) account. This team supports, maintains more than 100 HHSA applications, including custom developed, vendor supported, on-prem, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS applications. The main function of the role is to perform operational tasks including up-time support, managing incident tickets from clients, patching of applications and servers, internal operations, and conducting and reporting root cause analysis on problems. The role is the expert for assigned applications, along with having sufficient knowledge of other applications for secondary/backup support. The position also supports application and server upgrade projects and implementation of new projects.
Day-to-Day Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain excellent customer relationship skills by addressing support tickets and resolving application issues through daily interactions with clients.
Provide expertise in the support, monitoring, troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of platforms or custom applications, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and established technical standards.
Oversee the technical and service relationships between Peraton, subcontractors, vendors, and various internal organizations.
Utilize Service Management functions to ensure service delivery meets budget, quality standards, and committed service levels, adhering to operational policies, processes, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices.
Be available to provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder (No sponsorship)
Must have SQL programming experience.
Applied knowledge of ServiceNow for change and incident management, task management, service requests, and Application Portfolio Management
Proficiency in Windows OS, Linux, or Unix for application troubleshooting and maintenance (Note: This is not a System Administrator role, but involves providing support and guidance to SAs)
Knowledge of AWS sufficient to support applications hosted in the CoSD AWS environment
Ability to read and understand architecture/network diagrams, including ports and firewalls
Experience creating batch script jobs to move files and coordinating with DBAs for SQL database loading
Ability to install and configure third-party software and provide end-to-end support of the development lifecycle
Experience creating database views to match client queries
Skills in problem and incident management, investigation, and reporting
Ability to create project documentation explaining replication processes between systems
Experience planning, scheduling, and implementing changes to applications and environments as needed
Ability to create and update supporting documentation for projects under the guidance of a Project Manager
Experience reviewing workflows and presenting changes to automate tasks for clients.

Target Salary Range $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
