Job Summary : As a Desktop Support Technician, you'll play a crucial role in our IT Department. You'll be responsible for installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer hardware and peripheral equipment. You'll also work with outsourced vendors to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You'll have the exciting opportunity to assist our IT & Project Manager with research, planning, and implementing new technologies, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for Dell computer & server, HP & Xerox printer function/operation
Open tickets with COTG printer support for printer issues
Assist and Support United CU Staff with daily IT PC technical Support issues
Maintained PC asset tag inventory and accurate, up-to-date records
Familiar with banking core services, Fiserv Spectrum, and Corelation Keystone
PC Troubleshooting experience to resolve problems as they arise promptly
Assist with equipment Microphone/Audio/Video Team/Zoom Board Room Meetings
Other duties as assigned by the IT & Project Manager
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Associate degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
Must have at least five years of PC troubleshooting experience
Certifications Requirements: a valid, up-to-date CompTIA A+ or Net+
Previous Credit Union PC Desktop Support role in financial institutions
Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:
Excellent multi-tasker and a good listener
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be able to work well with others and manage time effectively
Trustworthy and able to work with integrity & MSP vendors
Exhibit competency in using current technology, such as computers, printers, scanners, etc., necessary to complete required and miscellaneous responsibilities
Knowledge of credit union practices and regulations
Detail-oriented and high degree of accuracy
Ability to problem solve & critical thinking to take the initiative to provide staff support in person, by phone, by email, and through remote supporting tools
Be reliable and have dependable car transportation
Proficient in Microsoft M365, Windows 10, Windows 11, Teams & Zoom Desktop Application/online Meetings, Polycom VoIP VX450 phones
Thorough understanding of relevant computer systems & operating systems
Ability to explain technical information in understanding language to non-technical personnel
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects at a time
Excellent planning, time-management, and organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job involves extended periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and working with a computer and standard office equipment. The applicant should be able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Travel may be required to visit company branches for on-site support or implementations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The majority of the work performed will be in an office environment.
