Interested in fighting healthcare fraud? Then the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse is the place you want to be. The mission of the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse as the State’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit involves investigating and prosecuting, both criminally and civilly, (a) health care providers who defraud the Medi-Cal program and (b) those who abuse or neglect elderly and dependent adults in designated facilities.

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist I acts as the full journey-level analyst and performs a variety of research, analysis and technical activities in support of the Division’s Investigations Section software and systems. The incumbent will function as the technical administrator for the Division's CaseBuilder and CrimeTracer systems and will research future digital evidence and information technology solutions. The position will perform information technology research, system integration/configuration, procurement, and project management duties while coordinating and enforcing Department security standards. The incumbent will provide primary support and troubleshooting methodologies to resolve complex issues related to Division information technology platforms.

This position is located in the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse, Investigations Section in Sacramento.

Desirable Qualifications

Multiple years of project management work experience.

Expert knowledge of State of California control agency procurement oversight requirements and processes.

Multiple years conducting research for IT solutions on-premise and SaaS.

Multiple years of experience in precision note taking and detailed report writing and documentation.

Ability to work under pressure and prioritize projects with short timelines.

Strong problem solving skills and the motivation to learn about unfamiliar technologies or programs.

Understanding and expertise with Department systems, databases and softwares, Microsoft Office Suite, CaseBuilder and CrimeTracer

Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to handle work assignments with tact and diplomacy, ability to build rapport with customers, colleagues, and others.
