This acquisition provides Gray new capabilities for stainless-steel manufacturing of key critical equipment for the Food and Beverage industry. It also expands Anderson Dahlen's resources to serve customers in the Food, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, and Vacuum Technology markets.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Operations Director will provide leadership to the operations team to effectively execute the production plan, with the best utilization of all resources that will maximize safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery for a multi-site operation.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Oversees recurring or daily functions or processes necessary for business execution and identifies opportunities for improvement or efficiencies.
Accountable for the operational performance of the overall business including but not limited to safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Responsible for the Master Scheduling and Planning functions to ensure best utilization of all resources and delivery performance.
Develops strategies to assist the business in meeting its critical goals and objectives in the most efficient manner possible.
Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
Establishes departmental policies, practices, procedures, and disciplines that establish consistency in the organization.
Embraces and implements Lean Manufacturing principles & Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive improvement in all areas of the operations.
Approves and allocates resources based on business priorities.
Evaluates and recommends changes to policies or procedures.
Establishes KPIs, goals and reporting on performance.
Establishes capital budgets for the operations for both person and equipment needs.
Fosters an environment for success and establishes high performing teams.
Strong coaching, development, and training skills with the ability to delegate.
Works collaboratively with other departments to support company goals and solve problems.
Up to 25% travel may be required.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALITIFCATIONS FOR ENTRY: Bachelor's degree in operations management, Engineering, or related field with at least 10 years previous experience, including some prior management experience.
Experience with food & beverage, industrial, pharmaceutical, and/or vacuum manufacturing desired.
Experience in heavy, industrial manufacturing a plus; metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, electrical, controls, etc.
Experience in an Engineering to Order (ETO) and medium volume, low mix environment desired.
Experience with ISO 9001 and ASME desired.
Experience leading and directing the work of other employees, personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of safety.
Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. This position will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
