As a member of the property’s Leadership Committee, the Director of Sales & Marketing is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. This position reports to the hotel General Manager.
The Director of Sales manages the overall Sales function including supervision of Sales Managers and administrative staff. Areas of emphasis include ongoing training of staff and other administrative duties, and includes achieving individual booking goals and has overall responsibility for achieving property Sales service of excellence and the selling process.
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for short and long-term planning and the management of the Sales phase
Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans, and objectives and manage within those approved plans
Maintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all sales areas
Develop and implement effective marketing plans for generating hotel revenues
Experience evaluating each piece of event business to ensure the business can be properly serviced
Monitor sales performance of Sales Managers
Collaborate with hotel senior leadership to ensure our offerings are attractive
Train, supervise, and work with sales staff, in order to solicit and book hotel functions
Led sales team to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enabled the achievement of hotel sales objectives
Administer all phases of the sales department, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, and administrative procedures
Coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards of excellence
Qualifications:
6+ years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (typically with Hyatt)
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
Demonstrated history of success in sales, business and team development
Results driven, energetic, and focused
Overall property strategic revenue focused
Well versed in Digital Marking Strategies
Strong negotiator and solution-based decision maker
Business/Marketing/Hospitality degree an asset
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency must include high-level presentation skills, including MS office programs, sales data and reporting systems.
Prior DOSM within hospitality is preferred
