Construction Framingham , Massachusetts Full-Time Dec 9, 2021 **Senior Buyer Job Description**
We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer to perform the sourcing functions for bidding, negotiations and procurement requirements on fast paced projects that DPS performs for its Life Science clients. This position will report to the Procurement Manager and work with the Procurement Specialist, engineering and construction personnel to coordinate the RFQ/ITB process, negotiations, purchase order and subcontract awards, expediting through to delivery of material and/or completion of work on schedule and within budget. In addition, this position offers room for growth within the department and other operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Contact vendors and subcontracts and maintain a positive vendor/subcontractor relationship
* Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to the buyer.
* Organize vendor and subcontractor data base
* Issue request for quote and invitation to bid packages
* Receive and distribute proposals
* Review proposals from a commercial aspect
* Complete commercial bid analysis and recommendations
* Issue purchase orders and subcontracts
* Enter purchase orders into system, ensure receipt of order acknowledgements/confirmations and verify costs
* Maintain equipment status reports for projects
* Identify, communicate, and mitigate any potential lead time issues
* Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation
* Logistics
* Invoice review and submittal
**Job Requirements** :
* Excellent organization skills
* High proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn operating system
* Knowledge of Procore, ConstructSecure and Deltek is a plus
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently prioritize work without missing deadlines.
* Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously
* Strong analytical skills and math aptitude
* Clear communication skills (both verbal and written)
* Problem solving/troubleshooting skills
* Vendor resourcefulness
* Negotiating skills
* Intermediate to Advanced Excel skill required
Job Type: Full-time. While overall, DPS values a work/life balance, this is a project based business which sometimes require that employees must complete tasks beyond an eight hour day.
Education:
* Degree in business, economics, marketing or related field preferred.
* 10 or more years experience.
* Familiarity with an ERP system such as Deltek, Visual, SAP, Epicor, JDE is added plus.
