What We’re Looking For:

Cloud9 is looking for full-time Team Managers committed to maintaining our operational standards. You will lead day-to-day operations and assist in strategic planning for our competitive teams. To be successful, you will need an eye for talent both on and off the roster, strong management and leadership traits, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a focus on process and organizational optimization and development.

This role will report directly to a General Manager.

What You’ll Do:

Administrative :

Support the execution of talent contracts and immigration visas

Complete all necessary paperwork required for internal and external partners

Manage team specific information databases and process guides

Execute daily schedules set by upper management within desired time frames and adjust as needed

Maintain detailed expense reports associated with team spending, facilitate talent salary payments, and coordinate prizing dispersal from tournament operators

Other responsibilities to be assigned

Talent Development:

Attend all team and staff meetings, interacting and recording pertinent resolutions

Assist coaching staff to execute team goals and facilitate performance improvement plans

Identify potential talent and communicate opportunities to upper management

Onboard incoming talent to existing Cloud9 policies and procedures

Identify performance improvement opportunities in the players’ lifestyle and work with upper management to develop and execute improvement strategy

Other responsibilities to be assigned

Operations:

Keep players on schedule during game days and manage team morale

Work with league officials to address concerns as quickly as possible when they arise

Communicate partner needs with talent and execute deliverables as needed

Manage inventory and address team equipment needs

Facilitate successful travel, requiring smooth execution of travel processes and team needs as they arise

Gather, analyze, and report relevant match data to upper management

Work closely with and advise Content, Social, Partnership, and Sales departments to execute on deliverables

Other responsibilities to be assigned

Bachelor’s degree

Local to Los Angeles or willing to relocate to Los Angeles

Have a driver’s license and be able to commute for work when necessary

Must have a valid passport and be able to travel for work

Flexible and able to work a non traditional 9-5 work schedule

No previous esports work experience required

Knowledge of the industry and its key players

Tech savvy, ability to troubleshoot any computer issues that may arise

Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance for extended periods of time

Possession of active listening skills with an emphasis on understanding. The artful ability to deliver clear and logical thoughts in response.

Ability to apply intelligence to practical, real-world scenarios, where a “book solution” doesn’t necessarily exist.

High growth-oriented mindset with a strong internal need for achievement.

High empathy and ability to self-regulate emotions when under increasing stress.

Ability to work effectively and supportively with teammates. Ability to prioritize organizational and/or team priorities over individual needs, seeking out win-win situations wherever they exist.

The wage range for this role incorporates the multiple factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,560.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
