Job Summary

The Director of the UCSF Leadership Institute manages a comprehensive portfolio of training and development programs and initiatives, that advance the workforce capabilities across UCSF Health, the campus, and beyond. The institute, a revenue generating entity for UCSF, currently boasts seven leadership training programs, six training pathways for Evidence-Based Practice, and a growing portfolio of specialty programs, most of which are offered both internally and externally. To successfully deliver these programs, the director leads and oversees the work of a large team of full-time professionals, faculty from UCSF's academic schools, volunteers from UCSF Health and external contractors.

This role requires a visionary leader who utilizes their extensive experience in developing, facilitating and evaluating workforce development solutions and interventions, to elevate the leadership capacity within organizations. This position will be responsible for designing, overseeing, and leading a significant growth strategy for the institute, ensuring that we can amplify our mission across UCSF, the greater Bay area, country and globe, partly through the development and launch of an international training hub. The growth strategy will entail expanding current partnerships, growing external partnerships, while drafting and executing complex multi-year agreements.

In addition, this role is responsible for advising senior leadership on high impact practices aimed at developing leadership capacity, across the organization and in service to its multiple missions, in alignment with industry trends. Therefore, the director will serve as the primary relationship manager for the Institute's domestic and global partners. Due to complexity of the financial structures within the Leadership Institute, the ideal candidate will display a strong financial acumen and be skilled in building and analyzing operational budgets and multiple year forecasts. As the institute has regional, national and global impact, travel is required of this role.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
