This position is responsible for leading, developing and delivering complex projects for BJS Membership and Marketing team.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Design, develop and troubleshoot mainframe application programs and interfaces applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer application skills.
Lead projects and work with multiple cross functional teams at onsite and at offshore.
Perform requirements gathering and analysis; estimate time required for project completion; prepare schedules, design documentation, design reviews and development; perform testing and deployment of application enhancements, and project planning.
Perform RTB (Run the Business) activities, such as fixing all the IT related issues and bugs that may come up during the production phase.
Provide production support - monitoring day-to-day processes, timely fixing production problems encountered, performing data fixes & troubleshooting issues.
Discuss business solutions with client business team and application users from different departments of the client to resolve existing problems, improve the application stability and ensure smooth running of the applications.
Expertise in the programming skills of COBOL, CICS, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, VSAM, DATAVAN and MQ (Batch/Online)
Expertise in using configuration management tools like ENDEVOR
Expertise in using File Master Plus, Intertest, XPEDITER, Abend-Aid, and SORT utilities.
Experience with RESTFUL web services in CICS
Excellent knowledge and hands on experience of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
SQL skills (complex queries and joins) and testing knowledge.
Requirements: bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or master’s degree in computer science a related field or foreign equivalent plus 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer on mainframe technologies. Experience on building micro service using JAVA technologies, Spring boot and AWS platform are desirable.
