As a Data Engineering Manager, you’ll manage a team of data engineers that will build data products that create the foundation for our business analytics. You’ll work hand-in-hand with a variety of stakeholders from various functional groups across the organization to create end-to-end data solutions. RVOH is a high-autonomy, high-ownership environment, where project ownership runs the gamut from ideation through to a production launch.
Our data engineering tech stack is primarily AWS running Spark/Scala within Databricks. Where required, other cloud services support the data platform. The Data Engineering Manager is responsible for managing, coaching and mentoring a team of data engineers that will build data pipelines and data warehouse solutions to support business analytics.
Where You'll Be
To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on a hybrid in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our South Charlotte office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

What You'll Do
Oversee individual contributors that are responsible for the delivery of data pipelines and solutions
Breakdown large projects into smaller subtasks for assignment within the agile framework
Lead technical discussions as they relate to the project work at hand
Represent the team around the organization in cross functional meetings
Provide coaching, mentoring and strategic direction to the individual contributors on project work assigned to your team
Define and manage priorities across the team by working with business stakeholders
Deliver performance reviews and manage career development for each of your direct reports
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience in managing in the data space
8+ years of total experience in data development
Experience in a leadership position where coaching and leading a team of data engineers was a key part of the role
Experience with Python, Spark, Scala or Java
Experience with the basics of data warehousing such as star schema, snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables
Experience working within one of the major cloud providers (we use AWS but we welcome candidates with experience in Azure or GCP)
Experience with at least one of the major DBMS products (we use Snowflake but we welcome candidates with experience in Redshift, SQL Server, Teradata)
Experience working within the agile software development framework
Experience working with external teams to drive collaboration towards a desired result
Experience working within the Databricks ecosystem is a bonus
Experience working with DBT Cloud is a bonus
Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.
Starting Salary: $130,000 - $180,000*
*Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications and experience
