BM Technologies, Inc. Role Overview

As VP, Software Development, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment at the forefront of cutting-edge FinTech innovation. You will be the guiding force behind our technology platform, driving technical strategy, leading our top-tier development team, and ensuring our technology stack continually meets and exceeds industry standards. You will partner across business teams to identify and implement ongoing process improvements.

To be successful in this role you should possess the following abilities:

Define the development stack, technical roadmap and IT framework in collaboration with the existing team.

Recruit, manage and mentor a top-class development team

Create a high performance, innovative, collaborative, continuous learning and improving technology culture

Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures

Manage relationships with partners and vendors

Set goals for performance and growth

Oversee IT budgets to make sure there are no unnecessary expenditures

Develop and direct safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches, fraud and compliance

Evaluate new technology and make recommendations on technological solutions

Make presentations to the President and CEO

Identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the company

Key Responsibilities:

Vision and Leadership: Define, implement, and oversee a robust tech roadmap aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

Tech Team Management: Lead and nurture our highly skilled tech team, fostering an environment of innovation and high performance.

Solution Development: Drive the design and delivery of state-of-the-art FinTech solutions to address the needs of our clients and market trends.

Risk Management: Establish security protocols and risk management strategies to ensure the security and integrity of our platform and data.

Previous held a role as tech lead, engineering manager or CTO role

Experience from building large backend solutions / Architect

Experience with large amounts of data

Experience in building web and mobile applications.

Great understanding of product oriented technical development

Commercial and business banking understanding

Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skill. A solid public speaker

Oversee the development and maintenance of applications using the .NET framework.

Ensure high-quality code standards and best practices in .NET development.

Advocate for practices that minimize code deployment times while maintaining quality.

Integrate .NET applications with cloud-based services and platforms.

Defining the problem, vision and solution for the business and cultural change required to drive technology transformation, and introducing new processes and procedures to ensure technology change is achieved

Leading and influencing technology strategy and design in an outsource environment

Demonstrable experience of working with senior colleagues

Ability to work with short term targets and long-term goals

Combine people skills with technological wisdom and a greater business understanding.

Solid architectural experience and extensive experience of working with complex APIs

Strong experience of leading teams in an agile environment

Very strong leadership skills and passion to want to grow and mentor a team

Experience in critically reviewing high level business requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

Proven experience as a VP Software Development, or similar leadership role,  within the financial services industr y

10+ years of experience working on or with software development teams using CI/CD, agile methodologies, and SDLC

10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, automation, and AI/ML deployment, with a focus on Azure.

Expertise in Terraform, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), and Azure Pipelines.

Proven experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Strong proficiency in .NET development and networking within cloud environments.

Application of DevOps principles and practices.

Experience with test automation frameworks and practices.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar are highly desirable.
