Job Overview: The Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling various aspects of IP litigation, including drafting pleadings, contested motions, and trial advocacy. Additionally, the role involves providing counsel on trademark and copyright portfolios, analyzing technology-related contracts, and collaborating with business teams. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of law firm IP litigation experience and be licensed with the State Bar of California.
Duties: Draft and research pleadings and contested motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, summary judgment, injunctions)
Conduct oral arguments and trial advocacy
Counsel, clear, prosecute, and enforce U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright portfolios
Analyze, review, and draft technology and IP-related contracts
Supervise and collaborate with outside counsel when necessary
Provide legal counsel on contracts, mergers and acquisitions, cyber, and technology matters
Participate in all phases of litigation and pre-trial processes in state and federal court
Preferred experience with patent litigation and/or a technical undergraduate degree
Requirements: Must be licensed with the State Bar of California
3+ years of prior law firm IP litigation experience
Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills
Jury or bench trial experience is a plus
Clerkship and court experience are beneficial
Education: Law degree from an accredited law school
Certifications: State Bar of California license
Skills: Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills
Proficient in drafting legal documents
Analytical and research skills
Knowledge of trademark and copyright law
Contract review and drafting abilities
