The role will be responsible for overall strategic and operational oversight and management, guiding the business towards new horizons, while maintaining the brand which is known as a benchmark of excellence in the wine industry. The ideal candidate has outstanding organisational and leadership skills, with a strategic mindset and problem-solving aptitude.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the role will take accountability and provide oversight for: *Brand stewardship *Operational oversight, including the vineyard, cellar operations and winemaking processes *Business development *Financial management *Organisational culture, driving values of excellence, social responsibility and sustainable business practices *Personnel management *Quality assurance and customer experience *Reporting and Board communication *all other aspects related to overall management of the business.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Oenology, Viticulture or a related field (a Master’s degree will be advantageous);
• Proven experience as a GM, MD, or similar executive role within the wine industry;
• Extensive experience in the wine industry, preferably with experience in the Cap Classique and champagne markets;
• Strong track record in business development, financial planning, operational management, brand management and strategic marketing;
• Driver’s license and willingness to travel.
