JOB SUMMARY:

The Truck Technician is responsible mainly for diagnosing failures and recommending appropriate repair procedures primarily for Peterbilt vehicles. The Truck Technician will complete the repair as instructed and provide customers the best possible service, by complying with dealership and factory standards. It is required that the vehicle will be kept in a near and clean condition, all safety measures are followed, and any issues should be reported to management immediately. In addition to repairs, mentorship will be provided to less-skill technicians.

COMPETENCIES:

+ Self-motivated and detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills.

+ Must be able to provide excellent customer service.

+ Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

+ Basic computer skills

+ Good problem-solving skills.

+ Works well with a team and managers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair required.

+ Four to six years of related experience or training required or equivalent combination of experience and education.

+ CDL license recommended.

+ Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

+ MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission certifications preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
