Job Description

About the role:

Join Takeda as a Strategic Initiatives Lead where you will coordinate the R&D Procurement strategic projects by partnering across the R&D Procurement team, Procurement Center of Excellence (COE), relevant corporate function leaders, and the rest of (Global Real Estate Facilities Procurement) GREFP. You will also be a program management office for R&D Procurement to coordinate cross-category and cross-region priorities through an portfolio management approach. As part of the Global Real Estate, Facilities, and Procurement team, you will report to the Head of Regional Real Estate, Facilities, and Procurement.

How you will contribute:

Cultivate relationships with the heads of strategy, transformation, and related sub-functions within key stakeholder groups, including Digital +IT, Human Resources, Fnance, and Legal, while drawing upon the expertise of peers within the function and their organizations.

Prepare and ensure effective communication of new and ongoing operating model refinements within R&D Procurement and GREFP.

Shape the vision and mission of R&D Procurement together with head of R&D Procurement in line with the Takeda values of Patient, Trust, Reputation, Business (PTRB) and the priorities of GREFP, Finance, and Takeda.

Partner with GREFP finance partner and R&D Procurement finance controller to ensure accurate and consistent reporting and budget management in partnership with R&D Procurement Head.

Be a steward of the procurement policy and associated SOPs and ensure adherence within the R&D Procurement categories.

Collaborate with the procurement center of excellence to ensure full alignment with the priorities of CoE and R&D Procurement.

Knowledge of current and emerging trends in procurement and facility management, and best practices and methodologies in program and project management

strategic sourcing, negotiating, contracting, strategic supplier management, supply chain, and procurement.

Knowledge of the latest trends in technology to enable the function and deliver world class services, including Business transformation, AI, Digital, customer experience.

Creative and practical problem solver.

Complexity

Highly complex mix of stakeholders across global R&D functions, Regions and Therapeutic areas, and/or countries who have both global and local agendas.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

BA or BS required, MBA or Masters Degree.

At least 10 years working in biotech/pharma industry, or other regulated industries, with experience in procurement supply chain and/or facilities operations management and project management.

Have in-depth knowledge and 10 years' experience of strategy development & deployment, building teams and capabilities and implementing Lean thinking.

Expertise in Change Management and the delivery of sustainable changes.

Experience working & cultural diversity, understands national and international business practices, customs and markets.

Experience with team member management and customer interaction

Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and procurement and other corporate & shared service tasks.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.

Boston, MA

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
