The Dupont Circle is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to drive and inspire the team. As the director of sales, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and maximise profitability.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Marketing drive the annual Commercial Plan and Budgeting Process, defining revenue objectives and strategies/marketing plans and supporting S&M Expense Budgets

Develop the strategic objectives related to both the sales corroboration with the General Manager

Working with the Director of Marketing to develop brand awareness and position for the property

Maintain awareness of current and future competitors product, pricing and marketing programs to be in a position to proactively response to market conditions

Overall be responsible for all market segment sales strategies & actions (including rooms, restaurant, bar, and meeting and events space)

Defining the cadence and creating the campaigns that will power brand awareness and drive sales, through carefully considered use of creativity, consumer relevant messaging within key feeder markets and meaningful to the needs of the marketplaces and the target consumer

Develop compelling & timely campaigns and B2B initiatives

Maximise opportunities from key strategic partners such as Virtuoso and Signature to drive awareness and leverage business opportunities

Support the Sales Managers across the RFP Season, ensuring in advance of this pricing parameters are agreed based on production levels and ensure timely loading of rates working in conjunction with revenue management.

Ensure market presence within key feeder markets, timely sales trip and activity planning, along with attendance at roadshows and tradeshows and aligned to budgeted expense

Personally manage and develop a portfolio of accounts measuring performance

To prioritize Sales & Marketing support according to prevailing and anticipated market conditions by allocating resources and funds against areas which will provide the hotel with the most efficient revenue performance

Provide Commercial updates on a quarterly basis

To contribute to the month end process, with alignment on the rooms forecast and ensure that sales expenses are forecasted as accurately as possible.

Working with the team ensure all available market tools to identify new business opportunities are actively utilised to drive the business results of each of the properties.

Develop a strong knowledge of all products within The Doyle Collection

Provide leadership and direction to a talented team, ensuring consistency and quality of output whilst maintaining morale and engagement with the business

Oversee the management of the Sales, including timely action plan development, personally and across all members of the team to support the business goals of the Hotel. Goal setting & monitoring results, ensuring proactivity, administration and database management, recording of sales activities

Coach and train sales team members to reach their full potential. Identifying development needs and as required enlisting L&D as part of the development process.
