Corporate Real Estate In-House Counsel - Homebuilding

Title: Corporate Real Estate In-House Counsel - Homebuilding

Salary Range: $175,000 - $275,000 + Bonus, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive legal counsel and guidance on all aspects of real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development, construction, and land use matters.

Conduct due diligence reviews, draft and negotiate complex real estate contracts, purchase agreements, deeds, easements, restrictive covenants, and related documentation.

Analyze land titles, zoning regulations, environmental reports, and survey data to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, business units, and cross-functional teams, to align legal strategies with the company's objectives.

Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolutions related to real estate transactions and land development projects.

Stay updated on changes in real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring the company's practices remain compliant and competitive.

Manage and oversee the work of outside counsel engaged for specialized real estate matters, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Must have relevant experience in corporate real estate law, ideally with a focus on residential development, preferably within the homebuilding industry.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Comprehensive knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and industry practices specific to the Houston metropolitan area.

Exceptional contract drafting, negotiation, and legal writing skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues, provide strategic counsel, and develop innovative solutions.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity.
