Director of Product Marketing

Axiad, a leading provider of SaaS cybersecurity authentication solutions, is seeking a senior-level product marketing professional to drive the business into the next phase of its growth.

This position will work closely with demand generation, sales, channel, and product management teams to deliver compelling and differentiated positioning that will help drive awareness and build pipeline. Specifically, he/she will deliver assets, sales tools, competitive analysis, and enablement to underpin lead generation activities. The role will also lead out on market analysis, new product introduction (NPI), asset planning, and sales plays, as well as support activities like PR/AR, blog/SEO strategies, and social media outreach.

This critical role will be a key leader within the organization, offering a high level of visibility to senior management and the ability to work cross functionally on key initiatives. It will require a deep level of business acumen, proven abilities to understand market trends and customer needs, and solid communication skills to represent Axiad products in line with our ideal customer profile. The role reports to the CMO.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the identity security (authentication) space, including emerging trends, the competitive landscape, and adjacent markets.

Drive market segmentation and analysis, with a clear focus on delivering a holistic picture of Axiad’s ideal customer profile (ICP) – at both the corporate and solution levels.

Define core messaging for Axiad’s product lines, which will be grounded in the ICP. This will require coordination with various internal groups including product management and subject matter experts, as well as vetting the output with customers and analysts.

Craft and maintain a message house -- summarizing positioning at the product/solution level -- that can be leveraged by internal teams, external service providers, and select partners to ensure messaging consistency. Update on a semi-annual basis to keep messaging fresh and in line with an evolving market.

Create product and solution-related content -- capturing Axiad’s unique value proposition and differentiation -- that manifest in a wide variety of deliverables such as data sheets, brochures, presentations, white papers, web content, email cadences, etc.

Partner closely with the demand generation function, collaborating on asset plans that underpin mutually agreed upon campaigns, identifying assets that align to these campaigns at top/middle/bottom of funnel, and producing campaign-related content as needed.

Monitor asset performance in terms of usage and engagement, and update content plans accordingly.

Develop tools and training to support the full sales cycle. This includes product demonstrations, sales enablement, and delivering competitive intelligence to the field and marketing organizations – often in conjunction with product management and sales engineers.

Lead execution of NPI launch plans for new solutions and products. This will include collaborating cross functionally with product management on launch tier and related bill of materials, with the comms team on outreach (e.g., PR and AR), and with sales and channel to deliver foundational enablement.

Evangelize our solutions to the market as a spokesperson via contributed articles, blogs and social media, as well as by speaking at industry events webinars, and more.

Support product management in establishing and evolving pricing, to ensure it aligns with the market and ICP.

Qualifications

7-10 years’ experience in Product Marketing/Product Management/Pre-sales in the SaaS cybersecurity space, ideally with an identity security provider.

Technical competence – possess the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling language.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including preparation and delivery of presentations. Must be able to write and edit at an expert level.

Proven track record formulating strategy and delivering asset plans in support of B2B marketing programs and product launches.

Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects, delivering successfully to challenging deadlines, adapting with flexibility and a positive attitude, and executing with quality and creativity.

Strong interpersonal and team skills, plus the ability to interact with analysts, customers, and partners.

Scrappy, fun, energetic, team player that works well under pressure.

Bachelor's degree is required. MBA a plus.
