Dean of Admissions

Fort Worth, TX, United States

Texas Christian University (TCU) is welcoming inquiries, nominations, and applications for a deeply collaborative, analytical, and mission-oriented leader to serve as its next Dean of Undergraduate Admission (Dean). An outstanding opportunity awaits an admission professional with significant enrollment and leadership experience, eager to enhance the lives of students through a TCU education.

A private university located in Fort Worth, Texas, TCU is classified as a top 100 National University by U.S. News and World Report and has a Carnegie Classification of R2: Doctoral Universities - High Research Activity. TCU has a $2.6 billion endowment, employs over 700 full-time faculty, and has a student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1. TCU was ranked #1 by The Princeton Review for Happiest Students for 2024. Their classes become even more talented and academically gifted each year, as they proudly graduate Horned Frogs ready to live up to the mission of the University.

TCU is in the midst of an unprecedented time of growth. The student body has increased to over 12,700, including 10,915 undergraduates and 1,870 graduate students. The University's ability to attract the most qualified and diverse student body while meeting revenue goals has fueled TCU's upward trajectory. For the class entering in fall 2023, 30 percent were students of color; 17 percent were the first in their families to attend college. Three out of four students received financial aid and the first-year class had the largest number of Pell Grant recipients in the University's history, essentially doubling the number from a decade ago.

In fall 2023, TCU welcomed 2,488 first-year students, representing one of their largest and one of the most academically qualified classes in school history. Undergraduate transfer enrollment grew by 10.5 percent and retention hit a record 94.3 percent. The demand for a TCU education continues to grow stronger each year. Building upon a record of success and commitment to enrolling thoughtful and talented students who excel in the classroom and their communities, the Dean will provide collaborative leadership in the ongoing development and implementation of recruitment strategies for undergraduate enrollment. The Dean will report directly to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and will work closely with other academic leaders across campus. The Dean will provide guidance and oversight for approximately 40 team members in the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and innovative admission leader with broad leadership skills that inspire the team to be their very best for the students of TCU. The new Dean will possess the skills to lead enrollment in a complex environment; superior communication and listening skills; exceptional analytical capacity and technological sophistication; the ability to form strong, collaborative connections across the University and its partners; displays the utmost diplomacy, and an understanding of the holistic undergraduate admission process that builds upon the success of the past 20 years.

All applications, nominations and inquiries are invited. Applications should include, as separate documents, a CV or resume and a letter of interest addressing the themes in the profile, which can be found here: https://wittkieffer.com/positions/200071
