View Profile Job Description Apply now Req Id: 32399 Job Title: Director of Donor Relations & Development Operations City: Hammond Job Description: Overview of Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations The division of Institutional Advancement at Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations. The Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations is a key leadership role within Development, r esponsible for overseeing all aspects of donor stewardship, relations, and development operations. This individual will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance donor and prospect relationships, ensuring effective communication and engagement with PNW supporters.
Duties and Responsibilities of Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations Facilitate a donor-centered stewardship program that deepens relationships, binds donors to Purdue Northwest, and inspires future gifts.
Manage the gift acknowledgment process, including, endowment reports, impact reports, donor recognition and stewardship gifts, to ensure timely and personalized communications.
Oversee the execution of donor recognition, stewardship, and cultivation strategies to enhance donor satisfaction and retention.
Provide leadership and oversee the execution of the broad-based annual giving campaign strategy, including goal setting, planning, and implementation.
Collaborate with Directors of Development on individual donor stewardship & gift acknowledgement.
Provide oversight of all operational activities related to gift processing, donor relations and fundraising operations, including reporting.
Extend and enhance major gift productivity by providing strategy, cultivation, and stewardship plans which align with the donor continuum.
Develop and manage processes for internal and external stakeholders to request information and reports, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration.
Liaise with Purdue for Life Foundation and other Purdue system relationships to leverage resources and support collaborative initiatives.
Serve as development’s primary contact for strategic events, marketing, communication, and alumni engagement offices, collaborating on initiatives that support fundraising goals.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align programs and services with fundraising objectives.
Monitor the annual giving and development budget and expenditures. Track stewardship expenditures and provide reports to senior leaders.
Develop and implement prospect management strategies to assist Directors of Development as they identify, cultivate, and solicit potential donors.
Collaborate with development and alumni teams to coordinate programs and services such as giving societies that enhance donor and prospect relationships.
Oversee the management of the CRM system to track donor interactions, preferences, and giving history, and reporting outputs.
Utilize data and analytics to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making processes.

Education of Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Master’s in related field preferred
Experience of Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations 5-7 years of significant experience and track record of success in sales, fundraising, development, donor relations and related areas such as sales, marketing, and relationship management
Demonstrated leadership management experience, setting strategic direction, supervising staff, managing budgets, and implementing process improvements
Core Competencies of Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skill as this position will engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven experience in successfully strategic planning and project management skills to drive fundraising success.
Experience in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce Ascend too effectively.
Manage and maintain donor and alumni data.
Commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
