Unit Based Medical Director, Patient Flow Center
Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a physician to serve as a Unit Based Medical Director of the Patient Flow Center. The ideal candidate must be board certified in Internal Medicine and should have 3-5 years of experience as a staff physician.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as a front-line PILOT
Work as a front-line Hospitalist
Create PILOT orientation/on-boarding process
Recruitment and Training of PILOTs
Evaluation and scheduling of PILOTs
Manages PILOT team
Develop optimized PILOT staffing model to support PFC growth/expansion
Develops PILOT Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement processes
Transfer Acceptance Note chart reviews
Audio recording reviews
Project development (examples: transfer delays, patient and provider experience, documentation, guidelines for safe transfers, etc...)
Develops and optimizes operational/logistical /informational workflows (examples: PFC RN-to-MD handoffs, MD-to-MD handoffs, new facility processes)
Investigate escalations involving PILOTs and/or HM
Develop Service-Line and Diagnosis-Based Protocols
Create PILOT job description to include a potential increase in scope
Participates in PFC Peer Review Committee
Participates in PFC Council
Shares equitable PFC call responsibility
Develops metrics and reports related to PILOT
Publication/presentation development
