Main Purpose of Job
The Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control (CCDPC) is responsible for a dynamic portfolio of projects that facilitate healthy lifestyles for Marylanders, with a focus on diabetes, heart disease, and stroke prevention. The Health Policy Analyst II will support, monitor, and coordinate a wide range of strategic health policy and planning activities related to chronic disease prevention and control efforts, with particular emphasis on evaluating, analyzing, and researching policies which impact Maryland citizens.\r\r\rThis full time merit position will provide policy guidance to CCDPC programs and will evaluate all environment/policy/systems activities of the Center. The Health Policy Analyst II will demonstrate high level analysis and writing skills to prepare documents, reports and policy documents. The incumbent will also provide contract and project management support to multiple projects within CCDPC to promote evidence-based practices to improve population health and will coordinate key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors in councils.\r\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\rExperience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.\rNotes:\r1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related fieldfor one year of the required experience.\r2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related fieldfor the required experience. \r
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess evidence of writingskills through report development, and previous experience with worksite wellness programming.\r
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
