Overview
We are seeking talented, dedicated, and experienced sales professional with a proven track-record in the Meeting & Event and travel/hospitality industry ecosystem including M&E agencies, hotel/supplier networks, and technology providers. Onyx has developed a first to market, purpose-built meeting & event platform to reconcile final spend and distribute/claim commission payments driving material efficiencies for hotels and agencies and an impactful ROI! With the addition of new (VAT compliant) invoicing capabilities, Onyx is executing an aggressive go-to-market campaign and we are excited to add sales resources to help drive our growth targeting hoteliers and meeting and events agencies.
The Sales Director – Meeting & Events is responsible for targeting our existing strategic accounts, securing new customers, and will actively participate in the development of our go-to market strategy for our GroupPay service.

Roles/ Responsibilities
Achieving assigned sales targets, primarily with new logo accounts and share of wallet expansion, within an assigned market segment (e.g. named-account list, sector or vertical)
Lead the entire sales/buying process, including market segment planning, target identification, solution development/presentation, opportunity management, negotiations and close
Targeting strategic accounts in the industry
Participate and influence the go-to-market strategy for our new GroupPay service
Based on market feedback, refine personas, target audiences, and product position with the Commercial and Product leadership
Develop & execute market segment (e.g. Territory) plan
Be an active and public presence in the Meeting & Events industry within Europe; including tradeshow and localized events as well virtual events and social media
Generate new leads and opportunities
Work to further qualify and close leads sourced by marketing and/or our dedicated lead generation team
Maintain a pipeline of active opportunities to achieve sales target
Manage opportunities to closure
Strategically orchestrate resources both internally and externally throughout the sales process
Accurately capture and report all aspects of account and opportunity information within our sales force automation (SFA) system (Salesforce)
Accurately report on forecast/pipeline
Qualifications
Minimum required:
5 years of sales-related experience, preferred in a new business sales role
3 years’ experience in meetings and events, including but not limited to current M&E technologies, hotel sourcing and contracting, commission collection, and financial reconciliation
Experience with a CRM
English fluency
Preferred:
1-3 years of relevant industry or product-facing experience
Multi-lingual candidates with fluency highly valued
