Overview : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring their employee benefits programs are effectively administered and optimized. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of employee benefits, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
This is a full-time, hybrid position reporting to our office in Fairfax, VA.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
Build and nurture strong client relationships, understanding their goals and objectives for benefit plans.
Discuss various insurance plan options, assisting clients in decision-making.
Guide clients through the annual benefits renewal process, including pre-renewal workflows and open enrollment.
Develop and execute renewal strategies with insurance carriers, aligned with client needs.
Create and present comprehensive renewal analyses and documents for client meetings.
Implement and monitor post-renewal strategies for necessary adjustments.
Respond promptly to client inquiries, providing guidance and information throughout the renewal process.
Proactively solve client and carrier concerns, providing efficient solutions.
Administer benefit surveys and develop customized materials to meet client and employee needs.
Conduct quarterly claims reviews to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Serve as a liaison with insurance carriers and providers to resolve claims issues and aid with the appeals process.
Respond to client employee inquiries regarding benefit plans, coverage, and eligibility.
Update systems to reflect employee enrollments, terminations, and changes with carriers and vendors.
Requirements :
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in employee benefits account management or a related role.
Virginia Life and Health Insurance License
In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans and voluntary benefits.
Strong understanding of benefits regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and benefits administration software.
Professional certifications such as CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP are a plus.
