In the role of Senior Multimodal Planner, we'll count on you to:
Provide transportation planning services for transit, highway, state agencies, cities and counties
Lead project tasks and small/medium projects including corridor studies, transit plans, bike and pedestrian plans, transportation demand management (TDM) plans, multimodal analysis, and other transportation planning efforts
Collect project-related data as needed, which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, land use surveys, and socioeconomic analysis
Assimilate, analyze, and manage data
Develop GIS and graphic maps suitable for reports and final documents
Develop project presentations and communicate complex transportation planning concepts in a simple and relatable manner
Develop project graphics and visuals (SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Lead the preparation and internal quality control process of technical reports and memorandums
Support business development efforts and client relationships (with the support of senior staff)
Support public information meetings and hearings
Perform other duties as needed
Lead the planning and implementation of multimodal transportation projects, including public transit, cycling, walking, and emerging mobility options
Be at the forefront of driving the planning and execution of multimodal transportation projects, encompassing public transit, cycling, walking, and emerging mobility options..
Work together with local and regional partners to create innovative transportation plans that improve connectivity and promote environmental sustainability.
Conduct and supervise research, data analysis, and modeling to provide insights for transportation planning decisions.
Advocate for creative and enduring transportation solutions through engaging the public and developing policies.
Promote innovative and long-lasting transportation solutions by involving the public and creating policies.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of relevant planning experience
Proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS Pro, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Familiarity with GIS
Understanding of multimodal planning and land use principles
Urban and Regional Planning Expertise
Transportation Planning
Leadership and Project Management
Understanding of Data Analysis and Modeling
Policy Development and Advocacy
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking
Familiarity with transportation regulations and funding mechanism
Proficiency in transportation planning tools and software
AICP or AICP Candidate
Preference given to local candidates
Sustainability and Environmental Planning
Smart City Technologies
Understanding of Public Transit Operations
Understanding of Funding and Grant Writing
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Conflict Resolution
Familiarity with regional transportation challenges in the Southeastern United States
Understanding of smart city technologies
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related field
A minimum of 10 years' experience with transportation planning
Possess excellent analytical and communication skills
Understanding of transit planning principles
Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
Solid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skills
