Director, Leadership Events Experience

We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.

The Director, Leadership Event Experience creates and promotes an exceptional event experience for all Leadership Events. The Director oversees centralized operations for the leadership events team who raise $15M+ annually. This position works closely with the AVP to strategize the creation and management of tools and resources necessary to successfully implement the Leadership Events strategy. In partnership with the AVP and Sr. Directors, this position will implement all tools and resources to support the leadership events team.

This position manages a staff team.

Essential Functions / Responsibility

Leads the creation of all leadership events experience tools, resources and communications (35%)

Leads the creation of all leadership events experience tools, resources and communications

Engages in the strategic planning, crafting and implementation of a Society-wide strategy for Leadership Events

Lead the development of regular campaign updates for sharing with staff

Develop regular campaign updates for staff, including: Monthly email communication, Leadership Events intranet site, and Bi-monthly all Leadership Events team call

Oversee Event Experience

(25%)

Create an exceptional event experience that includes consistent branding across events

Develop and ensure best of class event execution guides for MS Luncheon, Dinner of Champions and Taste of Generosity

Create appeal experience, signage, visuals and consistent communications (e.g. script templates, speaker messaging, mission videos)

Partner with production companies to convey and monitor adherence to branding and messaging guideline

Develop Tools, Resources and Training for Leadership Events Staff

(20%)

Create Society wide tools and resources to equip staff members to implement strategies, including:

Volunteer Leadership Toolkit & training

Sponsorship Toolkit & training

Day of Event Toolkit & training

Other tools and resources as needed

Works closely with AVP to create training tools and resources to implement strategy

Onboarding of new leadership events staff

Other duties as assigned.

Staff Supervision

(20%)

Directly supervises, coaches, and leads a team of field-based Healthcare Stakeholder Engagement Managers throughout the country.

Coach team members towards strong decision making and ability to utilize a growth mindset.

Establish and hold team accountable for pursuing, meeting, measuring, and reporting on performance goals and objectives.

Model and support team accountability to the Society's cultural values and operating principles.

Build and nurture relationships that create trust, open dialogue and transparency.

Conduct regular check-ins to monitor progress, provide feedback and offer guidance and support to manage needs and strategic goals.

Hold formal and informal performance conversations throughout the year that focus on outcomes.

Ensure staff has the knowledge, skills, resources, and tools necessary to successfully meet goals outlined in job description and operational strategic goals including customer relationship management (CRM) systems, communication platforms, or other digital tools that facilitate engagement and support.

Work directly with peers, team members and cross-functionally to plan, prioritize and implement tactics, activities, and tasks based on Healthcare Access operational plan.

Provide thought leadership, insights, and expertise to field-based colleagues on best practices and approaches to identify, analyze, and prioritize healthcare stakeholders at the regional level.

Minimum Experience:

5+ years of experience in project management and/or fundraising development required

Solid knowledge of Leadership Event Strategy and utilizing volunteer leadership to drive revenue.

High degree of organization, attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.

Motivated self-starter with the ability to remain focused on completing assignments with strong attention to detail.

Self-motivated with excellent communication (speaking, listening, and writing) skills, strong relationship building skills, strong analytical skills, ability to mediate, negotiate and resolve conflicts independently, excellent organizational and time management skills, strong teamwork and collaboration skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail and understanding of budgets and finance.

Must be able to confidently interact with and influence senior leadership and high-level volunteers outside of the organization.

Technical/Other:

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and donor database tools and reports. Preference given to those with experience in a constituent relationship system. Ability to use Meeting platforms and lead web-based presentations, as well as Facebook and LinkedIn. General understanding of strategies that drive Leadership Events revenue. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required including independent problem-solving, understanding of when and how to communicate priorities and issues.

Position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving, and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits Info:

Estimatedhiringcompensation range for this role is $82,000 - $98,665 annually. Final offers will be based on candidategeographic location and consider career experienceandmay vary from this range due to theseand otherfactors.
