About the Team

Come join our growing Omnichannel Engagement team! We empower people to work the way they want to, facilitating collaboration in the common workspace and across multiple channels (Email, SMS, Mobile Push), by building a scalable, extensible platform and set of services. Our mission is to join discrete services and create a unified messaging and communication platform for interactive engagement. This position offers the opportunity to drive the design, development, and delivery of shared components and collaboration frameworks used by Workday customers. Ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor with experience in working with enterprise-scale software built to send large volumes of messages using email and other communication channels. Help craft a highly scalable collaboration platform with the emphasis on deliverability of messages at scale.

About You

You have talent and passion for building usable, scalable, well-tested software. You want to work in a highly collaborative, supportive environment. You worked with sophisticated systems that optimally deliver large volumes of messages through email and other communication channels. You know the challenges affecting email deliverability and worked to tackle them. You’re familiar with important regulations that govern message deliverability. You understand the security aspects of communication protocols.

You enjoy mentoring junior developers and supporting their growth. You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working closely with the product and data teams. Collaborate with peers on vision, technical design, task estimation and execution of back-end and front-end features. Employ a strategic influence and ownership over our services that shape our product roadmap.

You are a tenacious problem solver with enthusiasm for team success. You "think outside of the box" and have talent for creating usable, scalable, well-tested software. You want to work in a highly collaborative, agile environment. You love learning new technologies, languages, tools, and you have a passion for building frameworks. Finally, you take a break every now and then to have a little fun too.

Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in developing server-side components for enterprise software

Experience with Java

Experience with messaging platforms such as Twilio, Bandwidth, SendGrid, Amazon SES or similar platforms

Other Qualifications Experience with the projects specialized in email deliverability, with expertise creating scalable and parallel-processing system architectures

Ability to analyze messaging data and provide insights into email or other communication channel performance metrics

A deep understanding of common design patterns MVC, IoC, Pub/Sub, etc.

Familiarity with Proofpoint and other email security platforms

Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting email or other message type communication (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM Act, etc)

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location: CAN.BC.Victoria Primary CAN Base Pay Range: $127,000 - $190,400 CAD Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $140,600 USD - $248,400 USD
