Financial Controller

Job Description

Hendersonville, TN | OnsiteIn order to make an application, simply read through the following job description and make sure to attach relevant documents.A rapidly growing luxury outdoor living and landscape services company is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead its accounting and finance function. This individual will oversee a small but high-performing team, drive financial reporting and process improvements, and serve as a strategic business partner to ownership. The organization operates multiple locations, generates approximately $15M in annual revenue, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing entrepreneurial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a team consisting of Accounting and HR professionalsOversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, cash flow, and budgetingPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsAnalyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to leadershipDrive process improvements and strengthen internal controls across the organizationDevelop reporting dashboards, KPI metrics, and visual financial reports for ownershipSupport annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiativesPartner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and accountabilityWork closely with external CPAs, banking partners, and other advisorsAssist with HR-related oversight and support organizational growth initiativesServe as a key member of the leadership team and contribute to overall business strategyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA preferred but not required5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experiencePrior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferredExperience supporting businesses with $15M+ in annual revenueStrong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingExperience leading and developing accounting staffStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insightsAdvanced technology aptitude with ERP and accounting systems experienceExperience creating executive-level reporting, dashboards, and KPI analysisAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentPreferred BackgroundConstruction, landscaping, field services, maintenance, project-based, or other operationally focused industriesExperience with ERP and project-management systemsStrong process improvement and change management capabilitiesCompensation & BenefitsBase salary: $110,000 - $135,000 DOEProfit sharing opportunityMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time offCollaborative, family-oriented culture with strong growth potentialWhy Join?This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role with direct access to ownership and the ability to influence the financial direction of a growing company. xhyhwjd The ideal candidate will enjoy building processes, mentoring staff, partnering with operations, and helping leadership make informed decisions through meaningful financial analysis and reporting.
