Warehouse Manager

Responsible for all the warehouse and logistic activities, which includes the receiving, finished goods-transfer and shipping process. Manage the warehouse material flow and maintain inventory accuracy. Familiarity with the SAP processes and good knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures is required. Execute continuous improvement in the warehouse with cross-functional interaction with other departments to support the operational goals. Oversee and sponsor the Sika SAFE program in the warehouse. Provide Day to Day oversight of the local warehouse drivers to include safety, Department of Transportation Compliance and vehicle operations.
***Specific Responsibilities:*** * Oversee the activities of the warehouse, by monitoring shipping, receiving, and inventory and make recommendations to improve the process.
* Work closely with Production and Customer Service to respond to shipment inaccuracies in a timely manner; ensure immediate changes for continuous improvement.
* Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and performance
* Supervise activities by working closely with the warehouse staff to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
* Meet warehouse operational standards by improving productivity, quality and housekeeping
* Understand SAP warehouse processes and recommend training and reports when applicable
* Monitor inventory process to ensure accuracy; investigate and correct inventory discrepancies or damages immediately and report back to Supervisor on recommended changes.
* Work directly with the warehouse team to keep the warehouse organized with a high inventory accuracy level. Monitor aged inventory and obsolete material in the warehouse and minimize the financial impact.
* Ensure timely and accurate shipments to customers by investigating and reporting on-time shipment performance.
* Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure proper shipping documentation; liaison with Customer Service team to rectify any problems including shortages / overages, inaccurate, delayed or incomplete shipments.
* Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure compliance with DOT and safety regulations within the facility.
* Supervise and prioritize activities as required to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
* Ensure the completion of all daily receiving deliveries (physical and transactional). Report and initiate correction immediately with any kind of deviation.
* Ensure all inventory transactions are completed goods and properly stored in an accurate and timely manner, investigate and correct inventory discrepancies immediately.
* Supply in a timely manner and apply the FEFO principle.
* Keep the warehouse organized with a high inventory accuracy level. Inventory levels to be optimized with the planning group.
* Finished goods to be shipped as planned to the assigned destination.
* Review and update all procedures as required.
* Monitor aged inventory and obsolete material in the warehouse and minimize the financial impact.
* Ensure facility and staff complies with transportation and safety regulations within the facility
* Training and development of the warehouse staff. Discipline, if necessary, following establish procedures.
* Oversee communication with outside departments
* Develop and implement recommendations for inventory accuracy and productivity improvements
* Provide management with inventory and productivity reports
Skills you`ll need
***Qualifications/Experience:***
* BA/BS in business, logistics or related field
* 5+ years supervisory experience within a 200,000 square foot or larger footprint
* Skilled at employee relations, especially non-union personnel.
* Strong leadership
* Excellent organizational skills
* Solid knowledge of SAP functions for receiving, outbound, push process, RMA returns, etc.
