Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Lead E&I Designer to join our Metairie team.
Position Type: Full Time
Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required
Essential Functions:
Understands drafting requirements for his/her discipline.
Adapt to Client Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her discipline for assigned projects.
Understands the designs for any system within his/her discipline once design guidelines and system criteria have been established.
Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for the assigned project.
Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned projects.
Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
Provides continual guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned projects.
Maintains and keeps organizes a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during the design for his/her discipline for assigned project.
Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned projects on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned projects have been properly checked and backchecked.
Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
Possesses awareness of project schedule and budget.
Assists with Project Audits when required.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED.
15+ years of working experience in the Petro/Chemical Industry.
Experience in "Lead" project role; mentoring, and delegation.
Experience Preferred:
Associate's degree in CAD.
