Key Responsibilities
Responsible for providing high quality consultation, support and consumer education to parents.
Manage child vouchers for families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Provide direct assistance to customers of all abilities, income, cultural, religious, linguistic, and ethnic backgrounds seeking consumer education regarding early education through the CCCB information and referral telephone hotline, individual counseling, written materials and community educational and outreach.
Provide daily telephone "hotline" consultation with parents regarding child care and information and referral services.
Provide outgoing assistance to parents, providers and other interested parties regarding access and availability of subsidized child care.
Receive and process referrals from DCF Child Care Coordinators in order to assist with the enrollment of at risk children at quality child care programs with child care vouchers.
Perform data entry and other related tasks to assist with the maintenance of community, provider and consumer databases.
Update Information and Referral resource information.
Help to identify community resources and educational materials related to services and care for children.
Assist with marketing CCCB services to the community, identifying resources and gathering outside information related to early education.
Assist in ongoing production and distribution of written outreach materials.
Assist with presentation, external meetings and parent training on early education and related CCCB serves to the community.
Assist in data collection for the community, provider and consumer databases.
Work with other CCCB staff to facilitate all services to consumers.
Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, social work or related field, and one to three years of related work experience required.
Related work experience in community outreach and program promotion preferred.
Strong knowledge of early childhood development.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle large volumes of paperwork.
Skilled with Microsoft Office and Google systems.
Demonstrated good communication and customer services skills.
Ability to travel locally, and work occasional evenings/weekends as required.
Bilingual skills are preferred.
Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
