POSITION TITLE
Endazhi-Nitaawiging Director of Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations promotes the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and strategically ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school’s learning objectives.
Director of Operations will be responsible for the Financial Resource Management, Public Relations, Facility, and Health & Safety Management of the school. We are seeking an individual who has proven experience and the ability to plan,
develop, operational management and budgetary control. The Director of Operations will work with administrators, teachers, and the school board. In this role you will need to be able to provide leadership along with professional support and advice. This role reports directly to the Head of School.
DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
Embody, advocate for, and execute on the mission, vision and strategic directions
Operational tasks specific to the Osprey Wilds compliance
Work in partnership with the Administration Team in the development and support of Endazhi-Nitaawiging operations
Assist with new employee onboarding and training program
Manage special project: plan, develop, execute and complete assignments
Work with Executive Director and/or Head of School to set economic objectives necessary for fiscal health and sustainability
Work with the Executive Director and/or Head of School to maintain and monitor the financial health of the organization and ensure all of the expectations of grant requirements and donations received are met and within compliance
Work with Administration Team in setting of agendas for monthly meetings with the Endazhi-Nitaawiging Board and other on-going committees and consultants
Report to Head of School, as needed, to communicate operational issues and/or needs,
Work with the Executive Director and/or Head of School to ensure school building is clean and safe with continuous maintenance and plans for improvements as needed
Fundraising for Endazhi-Nitaawiging: cultivate relationships with current and potential funding partners to meet fundraising milestones and goals.
Community building: plan, and attend community engagement/ events and community partners
All other assigned tasks
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND STRENGTHS
• Degree in Business, Educational Leadership, Indigenous Education and/or related field
• Understanding of Indigenous perspectives and willingness to learn more about Ojibwe language and culture
• At least five years of experience managing multiple projects and employees in a business and/or nonprofit and/or school or program
• At least five years in financial management
• Experience developing and managing operating budgets
• Experience working with Boards of Directors
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including collaboration, leadership, mentoring.
• Superb interpersonal skills, Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, partners, volunteers, parents, and others.
• Ability to travel in and out of state, obtains a valid MN driver’s license, and obtain current auto insurance
• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and State, Federal or International Background checks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND STRENGTHS
Experience in Business Management
Administrative leadership experience in a school setting
Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and program evaluation
Background knowledge of the fiscal and operating needs of a school
Proven results coaching and developing teachers
Experience working with children, families, and communities in school vision
Successful fundraising skills
Experience and knowledge with Red Lake constitution and law
Experience and knowledge with State and Federal school policy
