POSITION SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. This role involves collaboration with design and production teams, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to optimize operations..

Essential Functions: ·  Process Development and Improvement : Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and quality.

Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Apply Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste and variability in processes.

·  Production Support : Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure smooth operations.

Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime.

·  Quality Assurance : Work with quality assurance teams to develop and implement quality control plans.

Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

·  Project Management : Lead and manage manufacturing projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and logistics, to achieve project goals.

Prepare and present project updates, reports, and documentation to stakeholders.

·  Equipment and Tooling : Specify and procure manufacturing equipment and tooling.

Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Develop and implement maintenance schedules for manufacturing equipment.

·  Continuous Improvement : Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing department.

Train and mentor production staff on best practices and new technologies.

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technologies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competencies: KNOWLEDGE

Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

SKILLS

Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

ABILITIES

Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office software

Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training

Proficient in AutoCAD or Solid Works

Certificates & Licenses:

Other Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members or other outside partners.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demands Keying/typing, sitting, standing, walking

Constant mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in an office environment

The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of the job
