Senior Accounting & Regulatory Analyst

Summary:
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for performing accounting and regulatory analysis as well as developing additional monitoring tools as needed. This position will cross-train in the preparation of various regulatory reports and periodically be expected to prepare and/or serve as initial reviewer of various regulatory reports.
Additionally, this position will assist with accounting and regulatory research, including drafting impact analyses for new and proposed transactions. This will involve performing technical accounting and regulatory research and drafting new policies and procedures, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Develop tools to assist in the review and analysis of the company's accounting and regulatory position
Produce periodic accounting and/or regulatory reports
Research and review regulatory reporting and technical accounting changes, including providing impact analyses
Serve as backup to primary regulatory report preparers
Qualifications (Education, Computer Skills, Certifications, Etc.):
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or regulatory reporting
Understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application to financial institutions
Familiarity with financial institutions and required regulatory reporting (such as Call Reports and FRB reports)
Ability to research and conduct analysis on complex matters (such as new accounting and regulatory requirements, etc.) with some degree of independence and provide concise analysis
Ability to problem-solve independently and follow established procedures while identifying areas for improvement/enhancement
