Responsibilities:

Project Leadership and Coordination:

Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and clients to grasp project requirements and objectives.

Develop comprehensive MEP project plans, schedules, and budgets for seamless execution.

Coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines and project teams to integrate MEP systems flawlessly with the building's design.

Innovative Design Review and Approval:

Assess, review, and prepare MEP design proposals, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with codes and industry standards.

Offer technical expertise and guidance to the design team for optimal MEP system selection and implementation.

Provide final approval for design documents and ensure all necessary permits are obtained before construction.

Construction Oversight and Excellence:

Supervise and lead MEP staff during construction, ensuring adherence to approved plans, safety guidelines, and specifications.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, proactively identify issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.

Expertly resolve any MEP-related conflicts or discrepancies that may arise during construction.

Engineering Design and Analysis Prowess:

Bring your technical acumen to the forefront, providing expert support in MEP engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing).

Review and approve engineering design proposals, calculations, and drawings in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.

Utilize advanced engineering analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize project outcomes.

Quality Control and Assurance Excellence:

Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures for MEP design to ensure top-notch results.

Conduct thorough audits to verify that MEP designs meet our exacting standards.

Budgetary and Cost Management Finesse:

Diligently monitor and control MEP project budgets, delivering cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and recommend value engineering options when applicable.

Inspirational Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor a team of talented MEP engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Conduct performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and actively support professional development initiatives for team members.

Client Communication and Satisfaction:

Maintain regular and transparent communication with clients, providing project updates and addressing their concerns.

Actively participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss MEP-related progress and milestones.

Client Interaction and Business Development Prowess:

Cultivate strong and lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with business development teams to identify potential clients, prepare compelling proposals, and secure new engineering projects.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

Stay updated with relevant engineering codes, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring full compliance in all company projects.

Liaise with regulatory authorities and obtain necessary permits and approvals for engineering projects.

Embrace Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Foster a culture of innovation within the engineering team, exploring new technologies and approaches to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices across the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Professional Engineering (PE) license required.

Advanced certificates a plus (e.g., LEED, CEM, PMP).

Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in managing MEP projects in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial or institutional buildings.

In-depth knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams and clients.

Proficiency in using MEP design software and project management tools.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex engineering projects and teams.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Business acumen and the ability to contribute to business development efforts.
