Description and Requirements
Maryland Auto Insurance is seeking a committed, enthusiastic candidate for an Accounts Receivable Associate position within the accounting department. Key qualities for success in this role include a desire for learning and understanding, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate well with the installment billing team. The Accounts Receivable candidate will be provided with relevant on-the-job training. Option for remote work with stipulations.
Job description includes:
I. Major Responsibilities:
Process customer payments in billing system
Share responsibilities with other team members answering department phone calls
Identify past due accounts from system reports, proceed with collection efforts
Research outstanding balance issues and resolve accordingly
Process policy endorsements and refunds on accounts
Document all work performed in accordance with department policies
Interact with policyholders and agents to answer questions and resolve issues
Additional responsibilities, system testing exercises or projects as needed
Qualifications
II. Other Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Self-motivated and task-oriented, able to work independently
Keen eye for detail with strength in problem solving
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external professionals
Manage time efficiently and effectively in fast paced environment
Manage various duties and projects simultaneously
Basic knowledge/skill in the use of IT equipment/phone system, office practices and procedures
Ability to comply with the rules and processes as outlined in unit manuals and company rules as well as Maryland law
Ability to adapt to changes in laws, policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures
III. Education and Experience Required:
Education Required: 2- or 4-Year Degree or Related Work Experience
Experience preferred: Three years of relatable work experience. Education at an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at a rate of thirty credits to one year of experience. Knowledge of premium finance software is a plus.
