Manufacturing Safety Specialist

Job Description Job Description The Safety Specialist is r esponsible for implementing and maintaining safety policies to ensure a safe workplace at our Chicago operations. Works closely with Corporate Safety Manager to align processes with corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, communicate, and implement safety rules and procedures.
Issue and maintain OSHA & BWC reports.
Monitor compliance and intervene in unsafe activities.
Evaluate and manage safety-related incidents.
Conduct safety committee meetings and monthly safety walks.
Organize and conduct employee training sessions.
Facilitate inspections of equipment and facilities.
Oversee environmental policies and EPA record keeping.
Stay updated on regulatory requirements and best practices.
Coordinate annual facility audits for third-party vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
2+ years’ experience in safety role in manufacturing.
Knowledge of safety regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Strong communication skills.
Leadership, reliability, and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
Long periods of sitting or standing.
Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and walk.
Working Conditions:
Temperature-regulated office and manufacturing environment.
