The department of Health Sciences Development & Alumni Relations (HSDA) fosters a culture of philanthropy through donor-centered fundraising and leadership, and faculty engagement to secure financial resources that advance UC Davis Health's mission of improving lives and transforming health.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Development (SDOD) for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, the Associate Director of Development designs, develops, implements, and administers fundraising programs. Identifies new donor prospects through research of background information on potential donors and directs the development of materials and marketing plan. Directs the organizing of related fundraising programs / events; cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift donor prospects.
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing opened its doors in 2009 through a historic $100 million philanthropic commitment from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the nation's largest grant ever received for nursing education. As part of UC Davis Health - an integrated academic health system also encompassing the UC Davis School of Medicine, a 625-bed acute-care hospital, and the clinical services of UC Davis Medical Center and UC Davis Medical Group - the School of Nursing is a key element in a robust ecosystem for health care education, research, delivery and innovation. To achieve its mission to prepare change makers in health care, advance health solutions to optimize care for all, foster healthy, equitable communities, and support older adults and the families who care for them, the School of Nursing has a $65 million campaign goal. The ADOD is a critical player in achieving that goal. As a frontline fundraiser, the ADOD's primary function is to build the pipeline of major gift donors and deliver proposals to support the comprehensive campaign.

$6,608.33 - $14,808.33/mo.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
* Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
* Minimum of 2 years of professional or volunteer fundraising experience; or equivalent transferrable professional experience including strategic relationship development and portfolio management, preferably in higher education.* Demonstrated knowledge of proven identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation strategies.
* Skills to meet and drive to exceed fundraising goals and objectives.
* Demonstrated experience in developing strategic relationships with individual donors and prospective donors, foundations, and other philanthropic organizations and researching, building, and managing a portfolio of donors and prospects with a goal of raising philanthropic support.
* Excellent communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and possess a positive and collaborative work style.
* Demonstrated critical thinking and strategic planning abilities.
* Ability to interface effectively with prospects, donors, faculty, and volunteer leaders.
* Strong organizational and time management skills and meticulous attention to detail, the ability to set, negotiate, and meet priorities and produce high- quality work under multiple deadlines and priorities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional evening and weekend work. Travel will be required. Must provide own means of transportation to meetings and offsite events.

Improving health and maintaining a healing environment is our top priority and as such, the Health System is committed to a smoke and tobacco-free environment. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) is also strictly prohibited inside any vehicle owned, leased or occupied by UC Davis Health System or its employees (regardless of where the vehicle is situated), and in any vehicle parked at a location where smoking is completely prohibited.
