As a valuable member of our Dams team, you will support our water, environmental, civil, structural, and transportation projects while sitting in our Worcester or Westfield, Massachusetts offices. We offer a hybrid remote work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer.
Our Dams Team and Projects
Our diverse, multi-disciplinary dams team of geotechnical, civil, and structural engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists offer expert consulting services for dams and levees. This includes engineering evaluations, permitting and mitigation, design and construction, inspections, and sediment removal, emergency action plans, funding assistance, and more. We deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions from concept to construction. Our team has provided services on more than 2,000 dams and levees ranging from simple visual inspections and hazard classification to levee certification and design of multimillion-dollar dam rehabilitation and removal projects.
What will you be doing?
As a Project Engineer, you will assist a team of experts in design, permitting, and construction phase services for projects involving dam removal and rehabilitation and river restoration as well as performing field work related to dam inspections, collecting field measurements, sediment probing or sampling, geotechnical boring observation. Your dedication to high-quality work, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team will be instrumental in delivering successful outcomes for these important projects.
What does a Project Engineer need?
Over five years of consulting engineering experience and increasing responsibility on dam projects. A BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field is required and an MS degree is preferred. Project Engineers will also need a PE license. Geotechnical project engineers work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and construction professionals. The ability to collaborate effectively, contribute to a team environment, and communicate across disciplines is important.

The Project Engineer salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $70,000 - $104,000.
