Position Title: Grant Contracts Associate

Reports to: Legal Director, Grant Contracts

Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or hybrid of these two options

Position Type: Full time

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Legal Director, Grant Contracts and working within the global Partners In Health (PIH) Legal team as part of the Grant Contracts team, the Grant Contracts Associate will help draft, review and negotiate contracts for PIH with a focus on grant-related agreements. The Associate will assist with oversight and support for compliance with organization-wide policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Drafts or reviews and negotiates contracts on behalf of PIH including award and subaward agreements, consulting and other agreements for professional services, teaming agreements, MOUs and other grant-related agreements

Monitors and supports compliance with organization-wide Grant Management & Compliance-related policies and procedures

Trains coordination site, care delivery site, and educational site staff on organization-wide policies and procedures related to grant compliance

Assists with interpreting and applying Federal, multilateral, and private funder statutes, rules, and regulations regarding grant administration

Qualifications:

JD or paralegal

At least 3 years of experience with contract review and negotiation

Experience with USAID, Global Fund, World Bank, and/or other government and multilateral grants preferred, but not required

Very strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Knowledge of Federal laws and guidelines for administration of federally funded grant projects including Uniform Guidance preferred, but not required

French or Spanish language skills preferred, but not required

Ability to present information effectively to top management and project managers

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under deadline pressure and changing priorities

Ability to solve problems creatively in order to meet organizational goals and objectives

Ability to work well with a diverse team of stakeholders, honoring the concerns and priorities of local staff in field sites

Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and countries

Interest in social justice strongly desirable

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $90,000/year. The starting salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market for the position, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with employer match, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Full time employees will also receive 15 days of vacation, 12 sick days, 3 personal days and 3 volunteer days in addition to paid time off during the week between Christmas and New Years, the week of July 4th and 11 additional holidays annually.
