Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Risk Management, and using general knowledge of Risk management and Emergency Management, the analyst assists the Emergency Management department operations, and the Risk Management department operations.
FLSA :Exempt (not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range :$4,170.00 per month - $5,004.00 per month,commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range :$ 4,170.00 per month -$ 7,545.00 per month

Minimum Qualifications
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
RequiredQualifications
EDUCATION
1. Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, business, emergency management or similar field or related field and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
2. Experience with functions in risk management, insurance, emergency management, occupational safety, or compliance.
KNOWLEDGE:
3. Knowledge of basic principles of risk management, insurance, loss control, safety, emergency management, business administration and business objectives.
4. Knowledge of personal computer office software such as word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
5. Knowledge of ad hoc report writing or demonstrated ability to learn within acceptable time frame.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
6. Ability to work in teams for projects.
7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
8. Ability to maintain effective working relationships and teamwork.
9. Demonstrated abilities in attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and planning and organization skills.
PreferredQualifications
10. Two years’ experience with functions in risk management, emergency management, insurance, safety, and compliance.
11. Professional certifications in the field of risk management, emergency management, insurance.
12. Experience in insurance company, emergency management, or other private sector environments.
13. Experience in a university setting.
14. Experience within the California State University system.
