Eagle Health Analytic has contracted with CDC to provide epidemiologic services to their Assessment Branch (AB), Immunization Services Division (ISD) of NCIRD, who monitors vaccination coverage in state and U.S.-affiliated jurisdictions for pre-school-aged children, children enrolled in kindergarten, adolescents, and adults. The Assessment Branch’s (AB) mission is to provide scientific leadership on measurement of vaccination coverage across the lifespan, to collect, analyze and disseminate accurate vaccination coverage data, and promote use of these data forevaluation of immunization programs and policies at the national, state, and local levels.
The coverage assessment activities involve collecting and using data from national and state-based surveys conducted in-person, by telephone, or via internet-panel surveys, as well as administrative and other data systems, to provide coverage information across all ages and vaccines.
The Statistician will assist CDC staff with overall “Statistical Analysis and Reporting” by working under the direction of CDC staff as follows:
1. Developing and presenting analytical data files to CDC staff. This will include understanding the scientific data source, ensuring the security and confidentiality of analytical data files, providing data file documentation, and developing or assisting CDC staff with developing analytic programs in SAS and SUDAAN.
2. Performing analysis of complex survey data utilizing SAS and SUDAAN and developing statistical reports.
3. Performing bivariate analysis, logistic regression modeling, and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, using complex survey data, and providing support to CDC staff in multivariate techniques, generalized linear models, and survival analysis.
4. Developing complex Excel and Word tables from SAS into customized formats, developing graphs in Excel and PowerPoint, and developing PowerPoint presentations.
5. Preparing statistical and written reports for publication or presentation.
6. Reviewing and providing input into survey and questionnaire design.
This position is an Associate Level requiring two to three years of experience, in statistics or mathematics with a background in Public Health (Bachelor's Degree/MPH preferred).
• Analysis of complex survey data.
• Experience in SAS programming and using SUDAAN with complex survey data.
• SAS macro programming and design of data management systems for error checking and SAS report writing.
• Multivariate techniques (logistic regression, generalized linear models, proportional hazards modeling).
• Kaplan-Meier survival analysis.
• Experience in survey methods and survey design.
• Experience developing analysis plans and written reports.
