Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

What Were Looking For:

Iridium seeks a stand-out Software Engineering Intern to support our Position, Navigation, & Timing (PNT) team with prototyping, testing, and debugging of new receiver technology and demonstrating the capabilities of existing receivers. An internship at Iridium means an opportunity for students to be a part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to start making an impact on real projects from day one. During your time here, you will have the chance to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company!

What Youll Do:

Maintain and extend several existing applications/libraries: Simitree - A GUI framework for the modular development of simulation and testing tools.

Web applications that allow users to communicate with satellite navigation receivers and display the real-time position of satellites relative to their location.

Veritrack - A tool for comparing real receiver data with an idealized reference receiver to identify areas to improve receiver performance.

Python and C++ utilities for adding various data archives into SQL databases.

Develop new applications in Python and C++ as necessary to help with data analysis, receiver debugging, and prototyping of new functionality

Skills Youll Obtain:

Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projects

Critical thinking and analytical skills

Working in and contributing to a team environment

Organization and time management

Ability to adapt to provide support to the team as needed.
