**Job Description**

The Director of Prospect Development is responsible for supporting Boston College’s fundraising efforts by overseeing all activities related to prospect identification, management, and research. The Director will ensure the effective management, measurement, and analysis of movement of prospects through the donor lifecycle, with an overall focus on developing and maintaining a robust prospect and donor pipeline for Boston College.

The successful candidate will have an overall knowledge of strategic partnerships, philanthropy, fundraising processes, and prospect development initiatives, including prospect identification techniques, and research and prospect management best practices.

The Director will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with fundraisers to effectively manage prospect assignments, providing insights for portfolio and prospect strategy through ongoing portfolio and pipeline analysis and optimization, administration of prospect management data in the CRM and reporting on prospect management systems, providing ongoing training opportunities to fundraisers, and assessing and continually improving prospect management policies, practices and procedures.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $112,500 to $140,600; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

**Requirements**

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and 5-7 years of progressively responsible success in research and prospect management. Candidates must have effective communication and strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners across the organization. Experience managing staff and a record of initiative innovative problem solving, and adaptability is required. Proficiency in using a relational database management system necessary.

Must be a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.
