This position requires the ability to lead assigned tasks and projects, consult with clients and government agencies, and perform structural design and load rating with opportunities for inspection. OPPORTUNITIES:
* Provide technical engineering information to Project Manager to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.* Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on-field and/or design issues.* Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.* Prepare complete engineering plans or reports.* Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.* Keep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.* Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion* Has limited communication with clients.* Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.* Direct and supervise the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.* Relocation is available
Qualifications
YOU WILL NEED:
* Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.* 2 years' experience or the equivalent thereof.* Experience in the design and analysis of transportation structures required.* Experience with MassDOT, RIDOT, NHDOT, Massport and MBTA standards and procedures preferred.* Experience with AASHTOWare BrR and BrD, CSI Bridge, STAAD, OpenBridge, LEAP and PGSuper and other related design and analysis software preferred.* Experience with AASHTO and/or AREMA specifications preferred.* Experience with drafting using AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.* Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)* Valid driver's license
