Food Safety Manager

Purpose of Position:

This position will oversee the implementation of processes and programs to meet food traceability requirements. In this role, will also monitor the North America traceability plan, and ensure compliance across suppliers, distribution points, stores, and internal stake holders.

Accountabilities:

Ensuring the implementation of processes and programs to meet food traceability requirements, monitoring the North America traceability plan, and ensuring compliance across suppliers, distribution points, stores, and internal stake holders.

Work will entail activities cross functionally including but not limited to IT, operations, purchasing, supply chain, growers/packers, brokers.

Will be responsible to ensure project timelines are met, stakeholder tasks are delivered on time and in full. Support food safety compliance across supply chain network, align end to end strategy to meet food regulatory requirements.

Be a regulatory compliance subject matter expert, possessing strong knowledge of FSMA 204 traceability requirements and suitable advice the business on processes and technology to meet traceability requirements.

Support the project lead and drive project/program management for implementing our traceability solution, and specific project milestones necessary to implement FSMA 204 and company traceability requirements throughout the organization.

Monitor and verify food traceability compliance across our supplier network and ensure our commercial business partners are appropriately communicated and updated on Fresh Del Monte activities.

Update weekly communications on compliance tasks and highlight potential risks if appropriate.

Possess exceptional organizational skills.

Work independently and autonomously.

Build network and trust/credibility within and externally to the organization.

Be an AMBASSADOR for our North America traceability program.

Special Projects as assigned.

Minimum Skills Required:

4-year College Degree in Agriculture, Food Science or related subject and equivalent work experience.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook).

Detailed knowledge of FSMA 204 traceability requirements & compliance timelines.

Working knowledge of product / technology solutions including Warehouse Management Systems, Item File, and Supplier Portals.

Knowledge of Distribution Center Operations, Store/Club Operations, and Structure.

Food Safety Systems.

Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate others on traceability compliance.

Experience building and designing programs to ensure traceability compliance.

Strategic, influential, and progressive with the ability to implement regulatory requirements and translate business challenges into actionable solutions in a highly complex, rapidly evolving environment.

An action-oriented, resourceful, and approachable while also having the ability to influence and lead change, based on your experience and network.
