Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead and manage continuous improvement initiatives across Schweid & Sons' food manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities for process enhancements, driving efficiency improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and project management, focusing on the food manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Continuous Improvement Strategy:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.* Identify key areas for improvement in production processes, quality control, and operational efficiency.
2. Process Optimization:
* Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement.* Utilize lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to streamline operations and reduce waste.* Implement best practices and standardized processes to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
3. Project Management:
* Lead cross-functional teams to execute improvement projects from inception to completion.* Develop project plans, set timelines, and allocate resources effectively.* Monitor project progress, address issues, and ensure timely delivery of results.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
* Collect and analyze data to measure process performance and identify trends.* Create and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reports to track continuous improvement initiatives.* Communicate findings and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
5. Training and Development:
* Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on continuous improvement methodologies.* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and feedback.* Mentor and coach team members to build internal capabilities for ongoing improvement efforts.
6. Compliance and Safety:
* Ensure all continuous improvement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.* Promote a safe working environment by incorporating safety considerations into process improvements.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.* Minimum of 5 years of experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process optimization within the food manufacturing industry.* Proven track record of leading successful improvement projects and driving operational excellence.* Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.* Effective project management and leadership abilities.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.* Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
