How will you impact First Command?
The Vice President, Field Force Initiatives is responsible for managing relationships between the Portfolio & Program levels in the organization. This includes facilitating alignment between corporate strategy, home office lines of business, division leadership, District Advisors, Advisors and support staff. This position will provide business oversight for strategic initiatives and demonstrate expertise in a variety of the organization's concepts, practices, and procedures. Acting as a change agent within the organization to fuel transformation. the VP will directly communicate with and assist the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team to connect strategic themes of our business plan with the agile portfolio and program backlogs. This role will act as a point of contact between executive management, employees and other critical stakeholders to champion company commitments to our clients, our field force, and our employees. They are an effective professional that is expected to make an immediate impact and demonstrate an ability to identify, analyze, model, assess and deliver results. He/She will act as a point of contact between executive management, employees and other critical stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
Leads a diverse and dynamic team to design, develop, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance client experience by making it easier for field teams to conduct business.
Ensures Epic Portfolio is balanced, non-redundant, and strategically-aligned with the business.
Operates as a key contributor in the Enterprise Transformation Office to mature Organizational Agility, Lean Portfolio Management and Enterprise Solution Delivery competencies.
Communicates cross-Epic matters of record to the ELT at Portfolio Sync and drives Epic prioritization
Serves as an Operations and Technology liaison to Field Leadership and Advisor Services to implement change designed to increase field productivity.
Serves as an Operations & Technology liaison to Experience Design to implement change that improves the client experience.
Serves as an Operations & Technology liaison to Human Resources to implement change that increases employee effectiveness and retention.
Actively participates in writing lean business cases to align initiatives financially and strategically with company objectives.
Operationalizes and matures processes for technology releases that will impact clients, field and employees.
Collaborates with Portfolio Architect to define, manage, and assess progress toward objectives and key results.
Demonstrates an outside in approach to strategy by researching trends, assessing best practices and applying to First Command environment to deliver relevant products and services.
Monitors the adoption of agile products, enterprise solutions, and business agility across the organization.
Demonstrate drive towards "proactive" vs. "reactive" relationships with internal and external teams.
Active member of STP management group; lead other STP committees.
Facilitate the execution of training and communication plans associated with programs or initiatives.
Work with Home Office leadership to forecast, track and assess ROI associated with approved programs.

What skills & qualifications do you need?
Education
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business or related area) required
MBA or MS preferred
SAFe certifications preferred (i.e. SAFe Agile Product Management, SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, SAFe DevOps Practitioner, SAFe Agilist)
Work Experience
7 – 10 years of experience in organizational leadership
10+ years of collaboration with a sales organization, executive leadership, technology teams, financial product operations and vendors
Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish business strategy, and engineer processes accordingly
Strong understanding of business capabilities, value stream mapping and organizing around value
Applied experience defining and communicating success metrics & driving data-informed decision making
Strong experience in leading within organizational transformations
2-5 years of working in a Scaled Agile Framework environment
Expert knowledge of Agile principles and practices, with extensive experience working in an Agile organization
Certifications
Series 7, 24, 66 preferred
