Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Position can be based out of any of the following 3 GDMS onsite locations: San Jose, CA; El Segundo, CA; Scottsdale, AZ

As a Senior Systems Architect, you'll be the essential link between our Customers and engineering teams to define concept of operations, architectures, and requirements for our ground-based systems. Apply the system engineering process to lead a team and/or participate in design, integration, test and delivery of the system.

What you bring to the table:

A Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; Agile experience preferred

The ability to apply RF and communications principles to define the architecture and lead the development of complex systems

A deep understanding of satellite ground systems utilizing communications signal processing and DSP algorithms

Demonstrated successes in applying the system engineering rigor & process for product specification, design, development, integration, test and delivery

Experience in helping to shape and lead all aspects of complex ground systems to include:

RF front-end equipment: ability understand customer requirements and the implications of those that drive implementation complexity

Signal processing subsystems: ability to help define the architecture, perform trades, design for reuse and take advantage of other reuse opportunities

Network & Infrastructure: ability to understand or help define the network and computer infrastructure necessary to host a ground system

Ability to meet with a customer, understand their needs, develop a solution and document that in a whitepaper or business development presentation

What distinguishes you from others:

Experience with helping to design a SIGINT or SATCOM special collection system, to include these efforts: performance modeling and simulation; hardware and software trade studies, and technical evaluation of subcontractors

Working knowledge of the architectures and designs of satellite ground systems

Familiarity with satellite ground systems and communications signal processing

Familiarity with commercial SATCOM networks and protocols

Awareness of emerging SATCOM networks and market trends

An active TS/SCI clearance
