Job Description Job Description The Generalist serves as champion of Victory Church’s values and culture, proactively performing the responsibilities of HR functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, training, employment, payroll and benefits, and safety. This role carries out administrative work functions and maintains related records; develops and improves policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of Employee Experience.
This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, must have excellent attention to detail, is able to work independently with little or no supervision, supporting a ministry of diverse people. Someone who goes home daily knowing they’ve done their best and made a difference in the Kingdom.
Responsibilities: Performs routine tasks applicable to administer hiring and onboarding new employees and internal position transfers utilizing the applicant tracking system. External - staffing request, job posting, interviews, offers, orientation, Dept. onboarding
Internal – staffing request, job posting, interviews, offers, communication strategy
Train and consult and assist hiring managers with hiring process from requisition to onboarding.
Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions.
Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form (staffing requisitions, job descriptions, interview records, screening documentation, and offers of employment).
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Conduct 90-day new employee’s check-ins.
Promote programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace (including harassment and aptitude trainings)
Plan and administer staff training and career develop initiatives.
Provide resolution of employee relations, compensation and benefits questions, workplace injuries, etc.
Organize and train staff on monthly and annual performance management processes.
Serve as an administrator and liaison for PEO on employment laws and regulations, recommended best practices.
Promote and enforce staffing guidelines and procedures, develop and implement updates as needed.
Serve as backup for payroll/benefits processing and administration.
Works alongside the Executive Director of EE with enhancing job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building and employee appreciation and recognition activities.
Submit reports on general HR activity.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Support written and verbal staff communications (Chapel new hires/milestones celebrations and prayer, comm’s meetings).
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or similar field
SHRM Certified preferred
3+ years working with general human resources policies and procedures
Maturity and good judgment in dealing with interpersonal matters
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to function in a high paced organization
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Reliable transportation required
Knowledge of both Mac environment and Microsoft Office 365 software
Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems
